Letter from the Secretary General

Distinguished Delegates of KYALMUN'26,

As the Secretary-General of KYALMUN’26, and on behalf of our entire KYALMUN family, it is a true honor to welcome you all to the first-ever KYALMUN conference. My name is Yağmur Sarıtaş, and seeing this conference come to life—something that once existed only as a dream—means more to me than words can express. KYALMUN was built with excitement, stress, laughter, and countless moments of hope. Every meeting, every decision, every late-night plan was shaped not just with effort, but with genuine passion. Our teams worked with their whole hearts to create a conference that you won’t just attend, but remember.

This year, you will explore a wide range of global issues through our General Assembly committees, DISEC and Legal, dive into deeper discussions in UN Women, NATO, and H-UNSC, and challenge yourselves in our crisis committees, JCC and The Cabinet of Khaled ibn al-Walid. Each committee was carefully and lovingly crafted to inspire you, motivate you, and push you to grow.

Welcome to KYALMUN’26 — may these three days be filled with learning, inspiration, and memories that stay with you long after the conference ends. We are beyond grateful to have you as part of our first chapter.
